Straight to the Table

Guests being seated at the corner table by the bathroom walk straight to their chairs. They used to stop for a few seconds beside the hostess, who waits there to hand out menus.
When the plating table runs out of clean plates, a cook takes one from the rack by the sink instead of waiting. That stops a kitchen jam: with the busboy busy out front, nobody carried the racks, the dishwasher couldn't put away what she'd washed, and plates and glasses ran out.
