Built Where the Buns Are

  • The paper boats have moved from the pickup window to the counter with the ketchup and mustard, beside a new bag of buns.
  • The cook finishes every order at that counter: the bun from the bag, the toppings, then into a boat off the stack. The finished dog is carried to the window in its boat, so it no longer pops into a boat there.
  • From the fridge the cook carries only the sausage, so no bun or onion disappears at the griddle.
  • A tray of sausages stays the same size however many are on it.
  • The register at the order window is turned round: the keypad faces the cook, the display faces the guests.
