The survivor you start with is dealt to you

  • The survivor a run starts with is now rolled like everyone else: a random name, and a random trait from the same list strangers come from. Two runs no longer open the same way, and the first thing you learn about a run is who you were given.
  • A lone big eater is the one roll left out. Eating two food a day from a starting stock of four ends the run before a single decision is made: over 500 test runs that opening reached a settlement 5% of the time, against 33-37% for the foraging traits. The trait is unchanged for everyone you meet later, where a group can carry one.
  • Being dealt a worse start costs something on purpose. Across 500 test runs the bot now founds a settlement in 31% of them, down from 34% when every run began with the same blank survivor. Version v0.0.24.
